Our Director<\/h2>\n

A former journalist, Gareth was Education Editor at the Western Mail for almost 10 years during which he became the only specialist to work alongside four different Education Ministers.<\/p>\n

His new role puts into practice everything he has learned over that period \u2013 as well as analysing, scrutinising and contributing to education policy in Wales, he now works with schools and other key stakeholders to help in its successful implementation.<\/p>\n

A regular commentator in national print and broadcast media, Gareth\u2019s recent book A Class Apart: Learning the Lessons of Education in Post-Devolution Wales<\/em> was published in 2015 by Welsh Academic Press. A contributor to numerous education conferences on a wide range of issues, his current research activity relates to professional learning of the education workforce and accountability in schools.<\/p>\n

CEPRA draws from a wealth of knowledge and expertise that exists within the wider Athrofa: Centre for Education. Our human capital is vast and relates to all facets of education policy from across the age range. From early years education and care to lifelong learning and career development for more experienced practitioners, our team brings demonstrable experience and a clear understanding of issues facing educators, learners, and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n
